Statement by the Caine Group, LLC on the passing of Charles Skoda and Steven DeWolf

Charles was a co-founder of our first company.  He was an incredible man who lived a giant life.   He started his career as a Naval Aviator and F/A-18 Fighter Pilot and demonstration pilot.  He then went on to a successful career in business as an entrepreneur, business leader, senior executive, and airline pilot for American Airlines. We have so many great memories of our time with Skammer dating back to USC where he and Steve were classmates.  He was always the guy to check on all of us to see if we were doing ok. Most importantly he was a loving Husband, Son, Father, and Brother.  

Steve DeWolf was a renaissance man.  He was an Attorney, Law Professor, published novelist, deep thinker, and an incredible aviator.  Steve was a brilliant attorney who helped us during some incredibly tough times with a calmness, grace, and class that made him a very special man.  Steve was also a successful entrepreneur who founded Wind Tex Energy to develop wind projects around the world.  Steve had a mustache that we all dreamed of.  He loved turquoise-colored cowboy boots and was often seen sporting a brilliantly colored bow tie.  Simply stated, Steve was one of the coolest people we’d ever met.  He loved his family to no end and was the proudest husband and father we knew.

This weekend Steve and I, and our entire Families hold the entire Skoda and DeWolf families in our thoughts and prayers, and we send them our sincere and heartfelt condolences.  We will never forget the impact that Skammer and Steve had on our lives and the lives of those that were fortunate enough to call them friends”
